Chromium has a wide range of uses in metals, chemicals, and refractories. It is one of the most important strategic and critical materials. Chromium use in iron, steel, and nonferrous alloys enhances hardenability and resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
The use of chromium to produce stainless steel and nonferrous alloys are two of its more important applications. Other applications are in alloy steel, plating of metals, pigments, leather processing, catalysts, surface treatments, and refractories.

Nickel is primarily sold for first use as refined metal (cathode, powder, briquet, etc.) or ferronickel. About 65% of the nickel consumed in the Western World is used to make austenitic stainless steel. Another 12% goes into superalloys (e.g., Inconel 600) or nonferrous alloys (e.g., cupronickel). Both families of alloys are widely used because of their corrosion resistance. The aerospace industry is a leading consumer of nickel-base superalloys. Turbine blades, discs and other critical parts of jet engines are fabricated from superalloys.
Nickel-base superalloys are also used in land-based combustion turbines, such those found at electric power generation stations. The remaining 23% of consumption is divided between alloy steels, rechargeable batteries, catalysts and other chemicals, coinage, foundry products, and plating. The principal commercial chemicals are the carbonate (NiCO3), chloride (NiCl2), divalent oxide (NiO), and sulfate (NiSO4). In aqueous solution, the divalent nickel ion has an emerald-green color.

Cobalt is a metal used in numerous diverse commercial, industrial, and military applications, many of which are strategic and critical. On a global basis, the leading use of cobalt is in rechargeable battery electrodes. Superalloys, which are used to make parts for gas turbine engines, are another major use for cobalt.
Cobalt is also used to make airbags in automobiles; catalysts for the petroleum and chemical industries; cemented carbides (also called hardmetals) and diamond tools; corrosion- and wear-resistant alloys; drying agents for paints, varnishes, and inks; dyes and pigments; ground coats for porcelain enamels; high-speed steels; magnetic recording media; magnets; and steel-belted radial tires.

Chromium alloyed cast irons are widely used. High-temperature steels and alloys containing 13-60% Cr are used for making gas turbines and jet engines.
Chrome plating of metal products, i.e. electrochemical coating by a thin film of chromium, leads to their improved durability and service life.

Administratively, the Kapitanka Project is located on the arable land of the Kapitan village council and partially under the village of Kapitanka in the Golovanevsky district of the Kirovohrad region.
Licensed area - 9 ha.

Special permit for subsoil use

Special permit for mining of rare earth ores №6373 dated September 25, 2019.


In 1.5 km south-west of the deposit is the Pobuzhsky Feronickel Nickel Processing Plant with a separate railway line.
The licensed area is located in an region with good transport infrastructure
