MINE EXTRACTION LLC is a private company planning to extract chrome ores from the Kapitanka Project in the Kirovohrad region (Ukraine). The company received a Special Permit for Subsoil use from the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine (Gosgeolnedr), dated September 25, 2019 No. 6378 and has a detailed plan for the effective development of this Project.

Our achievements and immediate plans

In 2019, the specialists of the MINE EXTRACTION Company analyzed the available geological materials, performed a preliminary geological and economic assessment with the calculation of the reserves of chrome ores of categories C₁ and C₂ of the Kapitanka Project.

These reserves, according to the current legislation, were approved by the State Commission of Ukraine on Mineral Resources (SCR). We plan to develop the Project using the underground method using modern technologies and equipment, with backfilling of the abandoned area. This method is the most progressive, since it ensures the minimum use of agricultural land, as well as efficient and environmentally friendly mining of the minerals. The conclusions obtained by our specialists indicate the economic efficiency of the planned development of the Project (SCR protocol dated 02.04.2019 No. 4744).

The next important step of the Company was the creation of a database, using Micromine software and the construction of a 3D model of the Kapitanka Project with a grade cut-off of Cr₂O₃ in chromium ores 4%.

In 2020, after receiving the above-mentioned special permission from Gosgeolnedr, we drew up and approved a project for a detailed geological and economic assessment of the Central and Southern parts of the Project, according to which it is planned to carry out surveying and drilling operations with appropriate study and testing of core material. The most important component of the planned work will be processing and technological studies with the aim of selecting and testing the process flow sheet for the enrichment of chrome ores to obtain a complex (Cr, Ni, Co, Fe, possibly Au, Pt, Pd) commodity product. We have already reached an agreement to carry out these tests at the well-known German company ANZAPLAN. The results of these studies will make it possible to assess the Kapitanka Project correctly – according to the requirements of the classification NI 43-101 (Canadian National Instrument) or the JORC Code.
